What we believe:

We believe in the power of local leaders and grassroots organizations to best identify the needs of their communities.  At the same time, we recognize that many of these organizations lack resources and funding. We can bridge this gap! With adequate support, community-based programs can make a lasting impact in their region.

What we do:

We partner with locally-led organizations to support their mission of change in their own communities, by providing funding, professional and programmatic development support, and by acting as a connector to resources and the tools they need to succeed. Our focus is on collaboration with organizations focused on improving the lives of children; our goal is to see every child safe, healthy, and enriched.

How we collaborate:

Asali partners with sustainable grassroots organizations that work towards bettering the lives of the children in their communities. Potential partner sites are evaluated based on a set of strict criteria, ensuring that they are in line with Asali’s mission and philosophy. Once a partner site is vetted, we hold an in-country meeting to develop a relationship with the two teams and to understand their most pressing needs, along with their long-term vision. We raise funds on behalf of partner organizations, and make funders aware of the work being done and the results of our partners’ programs via regular communications. Partners have final say over how donated funds are allocated.

How we measure success:

Asali believes that to make a lasting impact, it's important to listen and learn from our partners. We work best when we act as a support system to our partner organizations and the communities they are trying to serve. We develop partnerships with a foundation of trust and understanding, and stay aligned with our partners on their long term strategies and short term plans they implement to achieve their version of success. Each partnership we establish has a predetermined threshold of success and an evaluation system to ensure that our resources are being used efficiently and that our partners are satisfied with our collaboration. We are constantly learning and improving our model as we work together with our partners.
