Annual Report for 2022-2023
In the 2022–2023 year, Asali Project deepened its impact through its long-term partnership with Simba’s Footprints in Tanzania. The organization focused on education, arts, healthcare, and economic empowerment, especially for women and youth.
Key Achievements
- Reached 2,115 young people and supported 313 women. 
- Invested $73,374 in community-led development. 
- Created 5 jobs and launched 4 income-generating projects (e.g., chicken farm, sewing shop, music studio, tourism). 
- Delivered 52 professional development opportunities to local leaders. 
- Hosted 10 cultural tourism trips, helping fund programs. 
- Co-created an East African Music Cohort connecting Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. 
Partnership Highlights
- Ongoing support for English, Music, and Health Insurance programs at Simba’s Footprints. 
- Marketing, grant-writing, and strategic support provided to local partners. 
- In-kind donations included 15 laptops and musical instruments valued at over $27,000. 
Growth & Challenges
- Started expanding to new grassroots partners in East Africa. 
- Diversified income by launching Asali Travel and adding products to the Asali Marketplace.
